Statement of the Job
Employee oversees skilled maintenance and repair work and supervises all plumbing personnel. This work requires initiative and judgment.
Duties of the Job
Supervises all personnel in the plumbing department, including other supervisors, include planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel, and recommending applicants for employment or for discipline, termination or retention
Orders and purchases tools, equipment and supplies
Maintains records of jobs performed, departmental charge codes and hours worked by employees
Insures proper equipment and supplies are available in the stockroom to complete various jobs
Monitors jobs to insure quality and proper compliance with job standards
Coordinates activities with other trades areas, project manager or outside contractors
Recommends improvements, changes or new techniques and procedures
Teaches and enforces safety regulations
Assists in and makes final decision on implementing engineering and design work related to plumbing
Estimates costs of various jobs
Disposes of obsolete, unused plumbing equipment
Coordinates repairs of fleet vehicles used in Plumbing department
Performs duties of a plumber when necessary
Materials
HDPE, PPR, UPVC, Sanitary Wares
Requirements
Must have Degree/Diploma and extensive 15 years plumbing experience including some supervisory experience
Should be able to communicate in (excellent) English
Should be able to read drawings
Should be able to manage 40-50 workers and foremen
